Naughty Dog’s unveiled a slew of new Uncharted 3 gameplay features – including, yes, split/screen gameplay – as well as confirming the PS3 exclusive will be receiving a multiplayer beta and when fans can expect it to go live.
So, here’s what Naughty Dog’s confirmed recently for Uncharted 3 (via GT):
Firstly, the game’s campaign mode will see players being able to interact with the enemies whilst hanging on ledges. Click on the image below to see it in action (1.47 minute mark on the video to see it fully in action):
- Multiplayer beta arriving on July 7th – Get the beta with inFAMOUS 2 or PlayStation Plus subscription starting on June 28th
- Sprinting confirmed for multiplayer
- Split/Screen confirmed
- Customization options available to players in the multiplayer modes: headgear, etc. Update: It has been confirmed you can customize weapons, too.
- New modes such as ’3 team’ deathmatch (2v2v2) and free for all
- Ability to customize weapons (red dots, acog scopes, clips, buttstocks,etc)
- ’3 team’ deathmatch, tag team style “clap hands for cash”
- New ability to kick off enemies hanging from ledges
- What 3D brings to Uncharted(climbing on ledges,looking down at the abyss,hiding behind cover and feel the depth of the scene
- Players who play in 3D might have an advantage over players playing in 2D
- Cinematic moments from the campaign will be featured in multiplayer – Possibly similar to Killzone 3 Operations
- Possible emblem editor
Additionally, you can interact with enemies on ladders, too. Check out that screenshot below.
As previously stated, Uncharted 3 will feature weapon as well as character customization. The weapon customization options seems fairly in-depth and we’ll need to see more of the character customization. Check out the first two GIFs of them in action below:

And, yes: Uncharted 3 will feature split/screen: the video below confirms the highly anticipated component via Naughty Dog’s co-president – Christophe Balestra – starting from the 3.23 minute mark. See a close-up screenshot of that below (click to enlarge). However, it’s unclear whether the split-screen is from the campaign or multiplayer side, but let us know what you think it is judging by
