Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Final Impressions
I haven't played a racing since Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit for the first PlayStation. I was happened to buy this as it was said to be much better than the popular Gran Turismo 5, and I give it a whirl.
The game is surprisingly good, with several Burnout mechanisms where it allows you as a Racer or a Cop to crash onto another car to take them out. By advancing several levels, you can get new cars that you can use for both online and offline plays. Also, you have access to several weapons that can helps you to get number 1 in the race or to escape the cops. There are several different types of matches, like Hot Pursuit, Race, etc.
Every tracks are unique with great visuals that feels real life-like. The car models are extremely well detailed and beautiful. My personal favourite car in this game would be McLaren, as it is one of the fastest cars in the game.
You can also use your own custom playlist as your own soundtrack. A cool and neat feature, if you don't like the game's own licensed soundtrack.
Unfortunately, you can't make your own custom match. This is a significant negative impact to the game itself. The strength of the game lies in the Autolog and online playing.
Regardless, I would dare say this one of the best racing game I have ever played. I haven't played Gran Turismo 5, since numerous complaints about the game itself, and I prefer Hot Pursuit's concept than Gran Turismo 5. This game deserves a score of 9.0/10.0.
