Latest issue of PSM has some info regarding the latest Tomb Raider:Source: http://gamenyusu.com/component/content/article/8-all-news/395-tomb-raider-psm-details.html
-Combat in this reboot wont glorify killing, this a younger and more fragile Lara, however, realizes that sometimes either kill or be killed.
-Jumps are far more dynamic, in this game you can jump and sort of aim in the right direction, and end up getting there or Change it on the fly a little and shell twist and turn in midair and causally grab stuff off to the side. Its more feels more like AC than pass TR games.
-Everything you see on the island actually exist in the game world, in short if you see it you can access it.
-There will be an element of choice to the experience, as players will be giving multiple ways to approach and obstacle.

Wrex Confirmed for Mass Effect 3 by Accident?
In listening to the Mass Effect 3 podcast, a question was asked: “What’s Bioware doing for combat?” The most interesting part of the response?
“We saw Shepard fighting with Liara, Urdn- uh, Garrus”. Don’t believe us? Take a listen for yourself around the 9:25 mark. What does this mean exactly? Perhaps the roster that we reported on earlier VIA PS3M has been expanded to include our lovable Krogan? Or perhaps it’s the mark of the return of our previous Krogan squadmate Grunt.
Dare we dream of a Grunt/Wrex/Shepard squad? Dare we dream?

Assassin's Creed 3 Reveal Imminent? Update: Assassin's Creed Revelations Is Next In The Series
Just recently, Ubisoft may have almost spilled the beans on the next Assassin's Creed game, what we presume to be, Assassin's Creed 3. E3 is next month, and some publishers may not wait until the biggest week long celebration in gaming to show their future titles. "Assassins, the day you have been waiting for has arrived!!! Click the link below to help reveal an exclusive look at the upcoming Assassin's Creed game!" - This statement was recently made on the official Assassin's Creed facebook page, so we may be in for some news about the title soon. Check back for updates.
Update: Another image has emerged. According to the image, you will need to *like* the AC FB page to see the exclusive reveal.
Update 2: The screen capture of the pulled page suggests a similar marketing strategy as seen with EA and Battlefield 3. The fans are prompted to promote the page, basically telling their friends to like it, until it reaches a certain limit.
Update 3: Confirmed! Spread the word to help reveal the next Assassin's Creed. Here. On the actual page that you need to "share", there are Twitter and Facebook share features that link back to the Assassin's Creed Facebook page once you've posted the share message, however, the AC FB page has yet to be updated with any like meters of sorts. There is an activity monitor on the Assassin's Creed activity page which currently shows 3% as of this update (1:37 PM EST).
Update 4: The flash teaser shows the name "Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad" an ancestor of Ezio, a master assassin. Perhaps the new Assassin's Creed will involve him as a main plot focus, but this is merely speculation at this point in time.
Update 5: Assassin's Creed Revelations is the name of the title.

More Tomb Raider details
Numerous magazines containing articles on Tomb Raider are beginning to hit newsstands. We received a great deal of information about the game from Hobby Consolas yesterday, and now another round of information has been released. We’ve posted the details for you below.
- As stated by Scrat, the adventure will be divided into three major sections corresponding to the 3 phases of the evolution of Lara in his initiation: survival, rescue, escape.Source
- The article stresses that the physics engine the game uses mainly the laws of gravity, centrifugal force … To allow Lara to reach his goals.
- The cutscenes and the game fit perfectly and are linked together without snap.
- The pain of Lara is accentuated by the effects of staging (close-ups, tighter camera angles, motion blur …).
- Lara’s character changes during the game one young woman inexperienced and impressionable, it will evolve gradually towards a more mature and adventurous determined, which will be felt in its equipment (the section does not the possibility that the two appear 9mm) and its aftershocks.
- The survival instinct that highlights the decorative elements that can help Lara can only be used when stationary.
- The puzzles based on the laws of physics, there are often several ways to solve them, and above all, no panacea: it is sometimes necessary to try several times to make it work because the laws of physics are random, the while adding a part of “improvisation” on the part of the player who has to do with what he has to move forward. Finally, the article states that despite the aid, the puzzles are not that easy to solve in the heat of the moment.
- Statues of Buddha appear several times in the game .. Their usefulness is unknown at this time.
- Some elements of the set collapsing under the weight of Lara.

It seems as though almost every magazine has a preview featuring Mass Effect 3 this month. The latest publication to join in on the fun is LEVEL, a well-known gaming magazine from Sweden. A subscriber over at BioWare’s forums was kind enough to provide a very in-depth summary of the article, which we’ve posted below. Happy reading!
Basically the writer of the article actually got to meet the team face-to-face in Edmonton and saw (and heard) some very interesting stuff. Most of the initial info is just stuff *we’ve* already heard. They have the good old picture of Ashley, with a caption that clearly states that Shepard has split with Cerberus and that this means s/he has a chance to get back with Ashley/Kaidan and maybe reignite the romance from ME1. Nothing overtly new.The picture of Shepard with an armored Kaidan to Shepard’s right (the reader’s left) and Liara on the opposite side is also in the article. The caption states that every single squaddie who survived ME2 will be back. It does not say if they’re going to be playable or even permanent squaddies (aside from the Fantastic 4 that we already know of).
The article also have the picture of the refurbished SR2′s interior. The caption says that parts of the Cerberus crew will actually leave the ship, and that it will feel quite empty early in the game.Casey Hudson goes on about the fact that Shepard won’t play the role of a general, but that s/he will affect the outcome of the war through inspiring other through his/her actions. Casey also says one of the main inspirations for Shepard was Jimmy Doolittle, a WW2 fighter pilot who epically owned a lot of his enemies and became a big inspiration for other soldiers, and that they’re playing that kind of angle with Shep in ME3.The pictures of the rachni husk and the batarian husk is also in. The rachni is erroneously described as a “collector” in the picture caption. In a text segment the article writer lets us know that Derek Watts, the art director, accidentally spoiled him with a plot twist of “Luke I am your father”-calibre. Fortunately the article writer decided to keep it for himself. Fun stuff to look forward to, in other words.Another text segment describes… and boy, this is a big one for turian-lovers such as myself… that Palaven has been rendered completely inoperable as a military stronghold, and that the turians of Palaven (either militarily or as a whole) have been forced to evacuate to a nearby moon that apparently is very barren, to really accentuate the turians status as hardened survivors. On the other page is a concept picture of the moon in question, with Palaven’s dark side in the distance. Fires can clearly be seen on the planet’s surface in the dark. Just below it is another picture which I can only assume is Palaven itself. Next to these two is a larger picture of a number of reapers attacking what seems to be a moon for some big, terrestrial planet with cloud formations. It may be Palaven again, i’m not sure.
The third picture has a caption in which the writer states that BioWare has some sort of plan on how to fight (in-game) the Reapers on their own scale, but that they want to keep it a secret other than that it will be “grand”.On the same page is a long description of the reinforcement of RPG-elements, in which Casey states that while they will satisfy the RPG-demand that most fans felt was lacking in ME2, that does not mean they will trim down on the shooter elements. He also says we will have more stuff to buy in the shops, and more stuff to do in the various menus.
There’s a picture of Illium and a caption that states we will get to revisit the planet. Below that picture is a smaller picture of the North American continent burning (the ENTIRE continent, for emphasis), meaning the Reaper invasion ISN’T just restricted to Europe like I originally thought. In the next segment, the article writer is introduced to Corey Gaspur, one of the game designers. Gaspur goes into detail on the new enemies, trying to emphasize their desire to create a greater variety of enemies, especially what he calls “reaper-zombies”. Apparently these reaper zombies can have some of their body parts blown off. He also uses the batarian husk as an example of how different areas on the body can affect combat. For example, shooting the hand-cannon will disable his range attack, shooting his claw will prevent him from meleeing you, or you can just ignore both and go for the kill by shooting the more durable torso. This system is apparently going to be applied to more than just this type of enemy.Casey explains that they are really going for a greater enemy variety, and that they will have cannibalizing husks, Cerberus mechs that can be blown apart in two pieces and new types of husks which will, and i quote, “be to the old [husk]version what 28 days later was to the Night of the Living Dead”.In the next segment they describe the salarian homeworld as a very damp and tropical place, comparing their architecture to the hanging gardens of Babylon. The article writer gets to play a combat sequence in an area by a waterfall, fighting Cerberus soldiers. The gameplay is positively compared to Gears of War, with emphasis on more fluid and faster combat. Casey reiterates that they are trying to make the game more difficult by making the enemies smarter and more tactical. “Veteran is the new Normal.”Next on they meet Parrish Ley, the lead cinematic director. This part isn’t very interesting, they just talk about how they are improving the cinematic feel and so forth. Parrish shows the Tresher vs Reaper segment to the article writer, and they indicate that the krogan convoy in which Shepard is situated is supposed to distract the reaper so that turian ships can get clear shots at it.On the next page is a picture of Anderson in a blue cap, with an ear-phone-thingy dressed in light combat armor with an assault rifle in hand. The caption suggests that he will have a much more combat-oriented role, but it does not say if he will be a squadmember in any capacity. My educated guess is that he will be a temporary squaddie. The rest of the article is just a couple of quotes that describes BioWares feel of its grand scope, and how excited they are to finish the big project they started 10 years ago, and how well they feel the trilogy-concept have been implemented, emphasizing that the series is the first to have player decisions carry over for three games.Well like I said in the beginning of the post I can’t scan the images, so you’ll have to take my (weak) word for it until someone can actually confirm it.If this has already been posted, just shoot me. I did an extensive research and came up with nothing, so here it is.One thing I forgot to mention: they say that the factions of the galaxy are on the verge of civil war and is that we might possibly have to choose between them in ME3, such as the quarians and geth, citing Kaidan and Ashley as an example but on a galactic scale. Gulp.Source

L.A Noire’s Script Is Equal To Two Seasons Of Television
Source: http://www.gameblurb.net/news/l-a-noires-script-is-equal-to-two-seasons-of-television/![]()
At this evening’s Tribeca Film Festival where there was a premiere for L.A. Noire, Rockstar had mentioned during the talk that the script for L.A Noire was about almost 2200 pages long. Geoff Gilmore of Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises mentions during the talk that the game “has over 20 different cases, some 400 characters and a script that is over 2200 pages” in which Rockstar confirms that the game’s script is about “2 seasons of TV”
Comparing this Heavy Rain’s 2000 page script…wow. Is it safe to say that this maybe Rockstar’s most ambitious game yet? Whatever the case and no matter how long it takes, I’ll be looking forward to its release when L.A Noire hits the shelves May 17th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Lots of New Mass Effect 3 details revealed
A lot of new Mass Effect 3 details have emerged and we’ve got them for you below.
The details discuss a lot of gameplay elements aswell as story and other stuff from the game. Be warned that possible spoilers lurk within them, for anyone who’s yet to play the previous two games.
Get the whole lot below:
- Heavy Melee Attacks
- There is a new charged-up melee attack where Shepard uses his Omni-Tool to inflicting a big burning hit.
- Story:
- They saw a cut-scene where the Normandy and a fleet of alien ships go through a mass relay together.
- The structure of the story is a little different to Mass Effect and ME 2, but it bears more resemblance to the first game’s story. ‘Mass Effect 3, in simple terms, is a little more like the first game. You’re collecting pieces of a story, but the more you investigate and explore these themes, the more the game will unlock and you’ll see the bigger picture.’ Its more of a traditional story.
- They’re not going to end the game like a traditional war story, where you beat the bad guys and celebrate. All these characters and relationships created will be a big part of the ending.
- Additional Details:
- Casey Hudson says, the game will have some epic moments, as well as ‘smaller, more personal moments’ that exceeds the previous 2 games. The player will start realising things from Shepard’s personal life. He will have to deal with the consequences of the sacrifices he’s had to make.
- Obvious: Your choices will all have an impact in ME 3 such as the genophage, the collector base, your LI choices etc.
- New enemy type: The Cannibal. Part Batarian, part Human and part Reaper. Consumes other enemies in combat to gain strength.
- The Turret that Engineers can use won’t kill enemies, but distract them.
- Gunfights are quicker and more deadly (confirmation).
- Visually it’s tapping the heels of games such as Killzone 3 and Crysis 2, with 6 months development time left.
- The Rachni decision may haunt you in ME 3.
- Character customisation will be as extensive as ever.
- The action, rather than the all-linear affair of ME 2, will be more along the lines of Uncharted.
- New Cerberus troops are called Phantoms and Assassins.
- Shepard faces full-on bosses in the game’s story. Some are really huge. One part, you have to lure a Reaper up to a Thresher Maw so they can duke it out.
- “Many of the core story levels are built around the largest, most dramatic moments in the galaxy.”
- The Mass Effect series has sold over 7 million copies.
- Even more details
We’ll keep you updated as more new details emerge.
- Normal in ME 3 will be the equivalent of Veteran in ME 2.
- Kai Leng (known from the books) will work with Cerberus to kill Shepard.
- James Sanders is muscular, like an American footballer on steroids.
The game releases this fall for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Thanks, GAF.

Quinton Not Involved in Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Questions and comments keep flooding in about Quinton reprising his role as Raiden in Metal Gear Solid:Rising. Quinton made the following statement via twitter yesterday:
For fans who keep asking, I’m currently not involved in Metal Gear Solid: Rising and have been given no reason to believe I will be.Many fans have asked for clarification of a previous post here on the blog about Rising and are wondering if Quinton will eventually be contacted to start working on the game. In all likelihood, voice work on Rising has already begun and Quinton is simply not being contacted to work as the English voice of Raiden in this installment of Metal Gear Solid. We understand and share the disappointment of MGS fans but actors are rarely privy to the details of the producers’ decision making process.
We also do not have any information regarding details of the game itself; whether or not the character “Solid Snake” will be making a cameo and if his long-time voice actor, David Hayter, will also be replaced.
We offer our apologies to fans for our inability to give satisfactory answers. In an effort to help, I’ve collected some links to recent articles discussing the game, where gamers might find useful information.

L.A. Noire Pre-order Controversy
If gamers dislike anything more than on-the-disc-DLC or same day DLC, it has to be multiple pre-order bonuses. With the upcoming release of L.A. Noire in May, gamers are going to have to choose where they pre-order their game based on the sort of bonus they receive. This creates an issue which will favor Rockstar monetarily in the end.
This is becoming an alarming trend. Gamers have seen this pre-order dilemma before with last year’s Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar is providing certain stores with different pre-order bonuses for L.A. Noire. Here is the list.
The point here is that there is no way to get all the pre-order bonuses. One would have to buy at least three copies of the game. Most gamers do not have the means to do this. I’m sure this stuff will come out in DLC eventually or if the game sells well enough, gamers will see a GOTY edition within a year. Better yet, maybe the consumer-savvy gamer should wait a few months and get the game cheaper.
- Amazon will provide gamers with the “The Broderick” Detective Suit and $10 Videogame E-Gift Card. Not only does the suit look good, but it also makes gamers more damage resistant as well as increasing the damage gamers can do in melee combat. Pre-order at Amazon now: L.A. Noire
![]()
- Walmart has the “A Slip of the Tongue” Detective Case and $10 E-Gift Card. The rumor is, the case adds 30 minutes of extra game play.
- GameStop is giving gamers the “The Naked City” Vice Case and The Badge Pursuit. This Badge Pursuit adds collectibles for gamers to track down. Collect all the badges and resourceful gamers receive additional weapons and ammo. The Naked City bonus gives additional game play revolving around a model’s suicide.
- Lastly, Best Buy has the “The Sharpshooter” Detective Suit which provides gamers with better aiming precision.
The bigger problem here is the mentality Rockstar is encouraging. The company is putting gamers and stores into a bidding/buying war and based on the bonuses, it’s going to be a tough decision outside of what Best Buy has to offer. To make things even more complex, Rockstar is giving PS3 owners some extra exclusive in-game content as well. This practice just goes to show Rockstar is only interested in making money and doesn’t care about its audience. This is just another practice to squeeze every dime from gamers while driving up day-one sales.
The future solution is to release everything that was going to be considered as pre-order bonuses as DLC as soon as possible. Most gamers would be on board with this even if the DLC was released the same day as the game. This is still better than the multiple store pre-order train wreck. Rockstar, here are good examples of a decent pre-order bonus to offer: early access to a beta, early access to reduced-price DLC, or different car/gun/character skins. As of right now gamers are trapped in Rockstar's web trying to decide which pre-order bonus is the most appealing.

'InFamous 2 to allow first-game save transferring'
In an interview done by GameSpot.com (link), Sucker Punch game director Nate Fox has confirmed that you will be able to transfer your InFamous 1 save over to InFamous 2. By doing so, your character and his morals (good or evil) will be used in the sequel appropriately.
"In the beginning of the game, if you have played InFamous, it will say, 'Do you want to continue?' [...] You can just continue through with that character that you developed," Fox claimed. "[...] It is not required. If you didn't play the first game, you're totally set; we have you covered. Things will [still] make sense."
InFamous 2 is set to release exclusively onto the PS3 on June 7. While waiting for its highly-anticipated arrival, check out a comparison we did of it and the first game here: link.

PS3′s Splinter Cell Trilogy Delayed
February has just been an awful month for news.Source: http://oxcgn.com/2011/02/20/splinter-cell-trilogy-delayed/
Whether it be the whole conflict in Egypt, or titles like Mirror’s Edge 2 receiving the boot, it’s been far from a loving month.
One of the more anticipated Ubisoft titles of this year was the high definition remastering of the first three Splinter Cell titles for the PS3, the Splinter Cell Trilogy.
The release date was set at a March release, but online retailer Amazon changed the date this morning to June 21st.
Why, Ubisoft? First the highly anticipated Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta being pushed back to an unset date, now this?
What do you think could be the reason? One of the most asked-for features of this re-release was the inclusion of the famous Spies Versus Mercenaries multiplayer; there’s been no confirmation that the mode will be included, and we’re all holding our breath for it.
Do you think Ubisoft realized after Splinter Cell: Conviction that they may well need a return of Spies Versus Mercenaries, and decided to keep it back in?

Shadows Of The (Delayed) Damned Pushed Back Two Weeks
Suda 51, at a recent San Francisco-based event, announced that Shadows of the Damned has been delayed and will be releasing two weeks after its originally planned date. The game will now be hitting the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 21st. This pushes the release outside of the E3 timeframe which might indicate that EA plans to make the game have a strong showing at said event. We’ll have more news for you on the game as it comes.

Visceral Games hiring for next Dead Space title
Visceral Games looks to have, unsurprisingly, had development of a new Dead Space title green-lit by publisher EA.
A new job listing from the studio popped up online yesterday in search of a senior level designer for the next instalment in the horror franchise. Visceral requests “deep knowledge of the action / shooter genre” for the game, listed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
“The Dead Space team continues to set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience,” it reads. “Our team values are as follows: Gameplay comes first, controller feel is everything, culture of creativity, be highly iterative, playtest early and often, learn from failure, work fast and smart, and surround ourselves with the best talent in the world.
“Join the crew! Your Plasma Cutter is waiting.”
It comes just a few months after the release of Dead Space 2, which was met with critical acclaim. In September last year, Visceral executive producer Steve Papoutsis revealed the creation of another title depends on the sales of Dead Space 2.

Mass Effect 3 has plenty of 'magic' and 'epic moments' - BioWare
BioWare says Mass Effect 3 contains a lot the 'magic' that makes the series special. Oh, and "epic moments" as well.
Speaking in the latest PSM3 magazine, which includes loads of Mass Effect 3 information, exec producer Casey Hudson discussed how he's gone about approaching the third and final game in the trilogy.
"There are certain things you want to do when making a game that are part of the 'magic' of the experience. Those things aren't necessarily the big things - they're often little moments," he said.
"There's a lot of this in Mass Effect 3. The whole game is filled with really epic moments, but I think the story will really start to hit home when players start realising things about Shepard's personal life, through sacrifice on a galactic scale."
Yesterday loads of new gameplay details emerged for the third game, including word on Shepard's new SWAT moves and destructible enemy armour.
Hudson told PSM3 BioWare already knows how the series will end - and it's going to be "spectacular".
"We know how we want it to end and we've already established what makes the series special," he said.

No More Heroes Gets An Adult Version
Grasshopper Manufacture’s No More Heroes franchise is going for an all out “adult” rating with an uncut version of it’s PS3 port hitting Japan later this year. No More Heroes is a popular action adventure title that hit the Wii in 2008 and later garnered a sequel and a re-release on the PS3 in Japan as “No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise”,
With tongue-in-cheek humor and suggestive themes, as well as excessive violence, No More Heroes has gained a very large support in the gaming community and now the title is holding nothing back as a “Z” rated version titled “No More Heroes: Red Zone” will hit Japanese retailers before year’s end exclusively on PlayStation 3. Mass Effect series sales total over 7 million
EA and Bioware’s Mass Effect series has been a massive success since the series’ introduction in late 2007. With Mass Effect garnering great reviews and sales in the range of 2.5 million on the Xbox 360 alone, the series caught a strong userbase immediately and hasn’t looked back.Source: http://www.examiner.com/video-game-in-national/mass-effect-series-sales-total-over-7-million
Revealed in the latest issue of PS3M, they reveal that the Mass Effect series has sold over 7 million copies since 2007. With Mass Effect 2 selling well on the Xbox 360 and putting up respectable numbers on the PS3 and PC, this figure should come as no surprise. Mass Effect has performed strongest on the Xbox 360, thus far, but with Mass Effect 3 releasing on the PS3 on the same day, sales could sway slightly -- though unlikely.
Mass Effect 3 is set to release later this year and will surely propel sale totals well over 10 million. Congratulations to EA and Bioware on the success of the Mass Effect brand.

New Mass Effect 3 Info Revealed
We have some new Mass Effect 3 information for you and it’s juicy. A gaf user named Lakitu translated the info from a Spanish magazine.
Be warned that anyone’s who yet to play the previous two iterations of the series might be exposed to spoilers if you decide to go through these details. Proceed with caution.
You can read the information below:
Spoiler
- The reason that Cerberus is put against us is explained at the beginning of the adventure (could it be because the Alliance gets the Normandy SR2 and technology, and SID, the AI of the ship? This a suppose of mine, not in the magazine)
- Cerberus’ troops include: Mechas, Assault units, Shock troops – ninja-style.
- Reapers: They have different sizes, ranging from 500-600 meters of the smaller ships to the 2km for Herald.
- New skills for Shepard: Launched in search of coverage to Max Payne, rolling, jumping small holes in the ground, as the SWAT turn and strike the enemy with greater variety of melee attacks. It specifically mentions “a new class: Heavy Melee” take advantage of these capabilities of combat.
- New skills: Engineer can build turrets.
- Customizable Weapons, guns, sight … five variants in each section.
- More items to “loot.”
- Space Battles? Perhaps, but unconfirmed.
- Scenarios: Larger. We will see people walking, ships fighting, architecture in greater detail. Searching for the photorealism of the sites using new lighting techniques on the stage. It has also improved the atmosphere and the number of dynamic elements of the stage, increasing interactivity with the player.
- Enemies: we can do dynamic damage into them. The Cerberus mechas, for example, requires that we shoot a weak point, the glass cockpit in order to overcome them. In other enemies we can cut off the arms, break the head or break various pieces of their armors.
- Fighting more dynamic, forcing us to move more frequently. The game speed is improved by 10 to 15%.
- Exploration: we won’t drive vehicles seen in previous games. The main gameplay is designed without them and will continue so. This does not mean that there is no vehicle, but they can’t reveal more now. There is a new scanning system.
Mass Effect 3 releases this fall for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. You can read the previously released details about the game over here and here.
- Locations to visit: New York, London, a moon of ¿Koriana? (maybe they mean Quarian or Krogan) world, a salarian world and Mars, among others. The development of each environment takes about 6 months, testing the levels from the outset.

inFamous 2 director on user-created content, “smashing in people’s faces”
In an interview with GameSpot, inFamous 2 game director Nate Fox has talked about seamlessly integrated UGC, importing your inFamous 1 save game and “smashing in people’s faces.”
Fox described why Sucker Punch decided to implement user-generated content (UGC) and how it will be integrated into the main game:
“We saw [LittleBigPlanet] and that just blew our doors off,” Fox said. “Here they were letting people have the fun of making games, and when we were making inFamous 1 we had this big open world, and we were placing villians and placing traps – it’s fun to do. We wanted to give that to players.”
He added: “The best part about it is that these missions just show up in your gameworld, so while you’re running through the mainline story path you can just decide, ‘I’m going to try one of these UGC missions’ – you don’t need to go to a database online to download it, it just shows up in New Marais. You know they’re going to be good because they’re selected by Sucker Punch.”
Fox went on to explain how the type of UGC missions that show up in the game world can be controlled by the player using filters. This means you can choose only to have those approved by Sucker Punch, open it up to every type of UGC, or limit it by mission type – puzzle- or story-based missions, for example.
UGC is only part of the new-look inFamous, though. Cole’s been given a new melee weapon for the sequel to allow you to get up close and personal, Fox said this is as a result of fan feedback.
“When we shipped inFamous 1 we kept getting the same message over and over again: ‘I just want to smash people’s face in’,” Fox explained. “It’s kind of the superhero thing, right? You just want to take your fists and knock somebody’s block off – that’s what you see in these classic superhero adventures, so we want to do it right.”
Finally, Fox went on to talk about how you’ll be able to continue with your character from inFamous 1, having the decisions you made and your Karmic standing from the first game carry over to the sequel.
inFamous is due out exclusively for PS3 on June 7 in the US and June 10 in the UK.

Rumor: Metal Gear Solid Rising Details Leaked?
The latest game in the revered Metal Gear Franchise has been kept tightly underwraps, but it seems something may have leaked out.
Gamespot member Kolokovitchk recently posted about having played Metal Gear Solid, apparently he’d gotten to know some of the developers through his “line of work” and was invited to play the game – the PC version at least.
While many people would scoff at this thought – could actually be possible that he has played it? How is that even possible you say? Well he describes almost every aspect of the game in pretty damn good detail.
He looks at all the big areas of every game (Graphics, gameplay/controls, and sound) and gives a pretty detailed explanation on all of them. He even details the differences between Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid Rising – here are some of the key claims he makes:
Now obviously it’s best to take this with a very thin grain of salt. Though you can head on over to Gamespot now where the user is accepting a Q&A until the thread is closed and deleted – so hurry on over there now and check it out.
- Uses a Tweaked MGS4 Engine
- Plays Quicker than Previous Titles
- Uses an Upgraded Cover System from MGS4
- Spot-On Audio, though quite a bit is reused from MGS4
What do you think? Does this sound like the Rising that was teased two years in a row? Leave us a comment below.

Poison Ivy Confirmed For Arkham City By Voice Actor
In a recent interview with 918TheFan, Tasia Valenza has confirmed she'll be reprising her role as Poison Ivy in Batman: Arkham City. Tasia goes onto mention that even though she diddn't get to play the game she spent a lot of time seeing her character and claimed she was looking "pretty rocking".
During Arkham Asylum botanist Pamela Isley was transformed into a plant-human hybrid by a science experiment gone wrong. With chlorophyll flowing through her veins instead of blood, she developed a toxic touch and a pheromone-fueled talent for seduction. Her crimes have become more ecologically focused as she has increasingly abandoned her human side, identifying more with the natural world. Her unique brand of eco-terrorism often puts her into conflict with Batman, whose iron will usually protects him from her seductive powers. - Batman.Wikia

Dragon’s Dogma takes Capcom into triple-A RPG combat
Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma is to take the company into the brutally competitive world of the big budget RPG. We got a first look at Captivate in Miami earlier this month.
A heartless hero and a meddling dragonDragon’s Dogma
The game begins with a dragon attacking villages and cities. Mr Lizard hasn’t been seen in decades and no one knows why it’s appeared. You, as the protagonist, have been chosen by the dragon, and the monster literally captures your heart. You’re still alive, and can now hear the dragon’s thoughts.
“If you want to get your heart back, you come to me,” the fire breathing behemoth tells you, so off you go on a quest to retrieve your organ and find out exactly what the Sam Hell is going on.
During what looks to be a long quest, you’ll hear the dragon’s thoughts and teachings (dogma) and eventually figure out your destiny.
While the premise of the story sounds both strange and typical fantasy fare, it’s a game that director Hideaki Itsuno has wanted to create since he was around 12 years old.
“I don’t know if you can tell, but I am really excited about this game, because I have been dreaming of making this game since junior high school,” he said. “This is the type of action game I have always wanted to make. We finally have the technology and now I finally have the staff to finally be able to make it.
“All the pros who have worked on our action games at Capcom are working on this.
“When I was in junior high school, I was really taken with The Lord of the Rings; I am sure it really influenced the look and feel of this game. But the typical creatures from your usual fantasy sagas – like Greek mythology – were influences as well. What you expect from a fantasy setting, you’ll see lots of those types of creatures in the game.”
“This is a sword and sorcery game set in a fantasy setting, and what we have done is create an open world for you to explore and have many adventures,” added Kobayahsi.
“As you play the game, you will find out why the dragon has come back, why the dragon is here and why he took the protagonist’s heart.
“’Dogma’ could mean teachings, and this is what the dragon is doing. He’s teaching what his thoughts are, and you as a player need to discover why he’s telling you these things.”
A total departure from Devil May Cry and Resident Evil
You may be wondering how a development duo known for action series like Devil May Cry and Resident Evil would become interested in creating a medieval style fantasy game. In fact, Dragon’s Dogma is not really that much of a leap for either Itsuno or Kobayashi.
“The main idea of this game was to create a large, expansive world where the player can go on adventures and be engaged in all the action that you would expect from a good adventure game,” said producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi.
“We both worked on DMC together. When Itsuno presented this idea to me I thought he was joking at first, because it was completely different than anything we had been doing together. But I could see the passion in his eyes, and he was really excited about it and really wanted to make it, so I said: ‘Alright, let’s do this.’
“We are making the greatest action game ever. We’re really excited about it.”
Battle with the pawns
While the game comes off as an expansive single-player affair, players will not be alone: three companions will be traveling along. When in battle, you have up to three “pawns” available in your party. These AI controlled characters can take commands such as “come,” “go,” and “help”.
Pawns appear to have decent AI. They give you tips during combat, such as more effective weapons or actions, or weak points on a boss.
Whether your aides can be controlled by friends over XBL or PSN has yet to be determined by Capcom, but there are multiplayer plans in the works – but the team’s saying nothing on that yet.
“Once you’ve customized your character, that character will be with you throughout the game,” explained Itsuno. “As far as multiplayer is concerned, we are trying to work on a new system, and will be making announcements regarding that in the future.
“What we really like about the game is that these AI characters are fully-voiced. They will communicate with you through voice, and with instructions and such. If you also want, you can also turn on the text box so you can read what they are saying.”
Key moments will appear during battle, such as a pawn needing help. The camera will automatically change focus on the stricken party member as a signal.
There are three classes on offer. The demonstration we saw in Miami showed the Strider class, which is similar to the Ranger class you’re probably familiar with. He has two types of weapons: two daggers for melee, and the bow for ranged attacks. The Strider class was called “the most balanced” of the three classes and the one people will wish to choose if they want to just get into the game and start fighting right away.
Fighter and Mage are the other two classes. The three pawns in the group shown during the main battle demonstration was made up of another Strider, a Mage and a Fighter.
The Mage doesn’t have magic points. If you want to use a very powerful spell, you just have to make your Mage chant longer. Shorter spells will have smaller chants.
“We want to make sure that this is an action game, and that it’s realistic action,” said Itsuno. “So we gave the Mage a chant-based system instead of a points-based system.”
The Mage can regenerate the health of your party, so if you happen to see him cast a green circle upon the ground, go stand in it to regenerate. This class can also use elemental spells, and can infuse weapons with these powers by chanting.
“The way it works with the pawn system, is when you add those people to the party, it mainly effects how you fight in the game and how you beat enemies,” said Kobayashi. “In the greater scheme of things, yes it they will affect the story in main parts, but the main way it works with them is how you fight.
“The pawns themselves pass information to you during the battle, and that will make you make the decisions on how you wish to play. So the focus is on you, and you control them. If you are in the middle of a fight, sometimes you might decide that the pawn you have isn’t good enough and you may want to replace it.”
There are some encounters in the game where you might not have the appropriate party for that type of boss, and you will want to go and find other pawns that will be more useful in the fight.
You can also solo. If all of your pawns die in battle you can just go and do what you want on your own, but the game’s been designed for the lead character and at least one pawn.
You will be able to upgrade your character by getting different weapons and better armor, and you’ll be able to stat-up. You can also upgrade your pawns. The way you upgrade everyone in the group will ultimately affect the party as a unit.
Battling the Gryphon
“One of the things we are proud of is the grab technique,” said Itsuno.
With grab, you can pick up smaller enemies to carry and throw. You can also use the grab attack on the larger enemies, like the Gryphon. This allows you to grab on any body part and climb around him, looking for weak points.
“A lot of action games with big boss fights only let you attack a certain part of the boss,” said Itsuno.
“Usually it’s the shins or ankles, or something like that. We want to give you a full, realistic, 3D experience so that when the big bosses come out, if you can grab on to them, you can attack it anywhere you want and how you want. It’s all up to you. We want to give the player freedom when fighting a boss.
“You can play this game as a straight-up action game and go from start to finish: it will be around 30 hours, the length people would expect for a solid, full-tilt action game.”“We worked really hard on these graphics so that when you fight, it really feels like you are there,” said Itsuno. “And its not just the graphics were worked really hard on, but also the player’s actions and the way they move and interact with the game. We tried to make all of that as realistic as possible.
“It’s not just the enemies which interact with you realistically, it’s also the members of your party. Capcom is known for its action games, and now, we are taking all that action experience and pouring it into this title.”
The world
Itsuno admitted that creating an open world game was “a challenge for Capcom,” because it usually doesn’t develop games of this nature. He went on to explain, pointing at some distant mountains on the screen, that you can explore anywhere you can see.
“Say, for instance, you see off in the distance some creature attacking people and you are thinking about helping them – you can,” said Itsuno. “You can actually go off into the distance and fight that creature. It may even actually be bigger that you thought it was at first, too.”
One of the main cities in the game was also shown, and it was large. There will be quite a few cities ranging in size, but for the demonstration we were shown one of the biggest.
This city has over 200 NPCs “living” in it, all fully-voiced by 70-80 different actors, and each with its own time-cycle. Each goes about its daily life on a 24-hour clock, and when you interact with them at different points in the day they’ll be doing different things.
To a point, you will also be able to customize the types of NPCs you see in the world, and the kinds you wish to encounter you can make inhabit a certain city.
When you are roaming about town, you’l be able to purchase weapons from merchants, revive your party, and also add or subtract members of your group. If you see a fellow who looks as through he would be a good pawn to have in your party, you can add them.
The way you interact with people in the city, just from simple things like item exchanges or goods they give you, or even the way you treat them, can have an affect on the story later on in the game.
We saw different areas within the city: the lower class area, the upper class section, and the fortress in the middle where the king resides. Players will also be able to pick up quests while visiting a town.
The main game itself appears to be substantial, and will include a lot of major quests. There’ll also be many side-quests.
“You can play this game as a straight-up action game and go from start to finish: it will be around 30 hours, the length people would expect for a solid, full-tilt action game,” said Kobayshi.
“But if you want to explore everything in the game – all the side quests and all these areas you can see to explore – you can up that to as long as you want.”
Itsuno said that two minutes in real-time equals about one hour in the game world, which has a 24-hour clock. Inside the city, we were shown just how dark it can get, even in inhabited areas, so your trusty lantern will come in handy. Plus, according to Itsuno, it can get a bit “scary” when night falls.
The game’s clock isn’t just for the sake of prettiness: at different times of day, different creatures come out. This provides the player with different quests, and so on.
“We are making the greatest action game ever. We’re really excited about it.”Whether fighting it out with a Gryphon or interacting with NPCs, there are going to be a lot of decisions you can make during your time in the world, and those decisions will have an effect on later elements in the game. And, yes, there’ll be different endings.
The pesky Hydra
The final scene shown to us during the demo was a boss battle with a Hydra. Different moves cut off its head, but the dratted things grow back. You’ll need to be cunning.
“The Hydra’s favorite food happens to be humans, so you will see him eating people around him as you fight,” said Itsuno. “When a human gets swallowed by a Hydra, there are ways to rescue that person, but you will need to figure out how. Also, there are ways to stop the heads from regenerating, but how you do it is up to you.
“How you fight, your playstyle, however you want to do it: there’s no set way to beat the thing.”

New Mass Effect 3 details covers enemy tactics, combat and more
More and more details for Mass Effect 3 continue to come out through the upcoming GameInformer piece and the BioWare forums. The latest details some of the enemy tactics that we'll be seen in the game as well as new addition to combat and some of what will carry over from Mass Effect 2. We've also got a pretty awesome looking image showing the Reaper invasion of London.
BioWare Senior Designer Brennon Holmes took to the BioWare forums to explain a bit about how enemy combat roles are used to make life difficult for the player controlling Commander Shepard and his squadmates.
Sooo... one thing we're focusing a lot more on in ME3 is enemy composition. We have a handful of roles that enemies fit into. So, take husks for example - when fighting husks you generally don't want to be in cover. They're pretty mobile, and can do terrible things to you in close range. So, when engaging them you generally want to be able to move around a lot. They fall into our "cover buster" role.In a given fight we might combine husks with a "suppressor" type of enemy. Suppressors try to keep you pinned in cover. With both of those types in one fight, as a player you have to decide which is the larger threat. Do you send your squadmates against the Husks? Do you try to find a position where you're more protected from the suppressor enemy and take on the Husks? Or do you run headlong towards the suppressor in the back, and try to take it down quickly while avoiding the Husks?Obviously that's just an example, and normally a fight is comprised of more than just two different roles (additionally, "suppressor" / "cover buster" combinations are pretty damned hard to fight). So you might be able to see how just with interesting composition you can get extremely dynamic experiences that can vary significantly from attempt to attempt. This is also not going into any of the synergistic elements of some of the enemies either... some enemies have ability sets that help or modify other enemies, making them potentially a *lot* tougher... if you let them...
Some other details concerning combat to come out include news that Shepard will now be able to target and shoot off certain pieces of enemies to slow them down and reduce their combat effectiveness. Melee will also play a larger role with each class having their own special melee attack. Space combat returns too but will be handled differently this time and on a much larger scale.
Players will also be able to pick up some enemy weapons. There will be specific weapons like the Shock Stick that Cerberus Assault Troopers use that cannot be picked up because they are visual elements according to Brennon Holmes.
For those that have completed Mass Effect 2 and plan on transferring your character over to Mass Effect 3, expect to see most but not all of the powers you obtained make the transition as well. No details on what specific powers will not be making the trip over yet.
You can check out the full image of London under siege in our gallery.

inFamous 2 makes fun of Halo: Reach and others
inFamous 2 is turning out to be a rather fun game, in more ways than one.
Already looking really promising, the game seems to be one, who’s not shy of making fun of several others, all in good steed.
After taking a digg at the Xbox 360 in one neat little easter egg, another one has emerged, which shows it, taking a digg at not one, but several popular franchises, even some PS3 exclusives.
As you can see in the image above, several popular game titles have been tweaked to make them sound ridiculous. The most funny one, according to us gotta be Hey Low Reach.
There’s plenty more in it, including, No Need for Speed, Assassin’s Need, Little Big Unit, Epic Hickey, SLY! and Latch IT and SKANK. We hope you can make out which are the games, they’re trying to wisecrack at. We wouldn’t tell you all of them, ourselves.
Let us know which, you’ve found to be the most hilarious out of the lot.

Consoles To be Announced at E3?
At this point there is no confirmation of any console to be announced at E3. We can only take what the media has been saying about the upcoming consoles as a grain of salt and make an educated guess.
If there is any console to be announced at E3, that will be the so rumored Nintendo Wii 2. As we have mentioned in previous articles, Nintendo is badly in need to upgrade its existing console to make sure to remain competitive.
Other gaming platforms such as the Sony NGP, the Microsoft Xbox 3 or 720 or the PS4 are also rumored to pop up at E3. However, these are mere wish thinking and not as likely to show up as the Nintendo Wii 2. Either way, it's nice to think that we are having all these new gen consoles coming in the not so far future. We also think graphics are ready to leap again. Why ? Well by end 2012/2013 we could Unreal Engine 4 and CryEngine 4 both on our hands. What happened last time Unreal Engine was released? we ended up getting a new console generation. So as new gen consoles are upgrading, we also think graphic engines will improve to take advantage of the new hardware.

BioWare describes Mass Effect 3's 'full-scale war feel', 'ugly' plot
BioWare's described in detail the feelings it plans to evoke with Mass Effect's final episode, which it says will - at the beginning at least - feel "hopeless", "ugly" and like a "full-scale war".
Speaking in the US Game Informer reveal (hit the link for all the Mass Effect 3 details), executive producer Casey Hudson said the third game will continue the dark tone of Mass Effect 2.
"Yeah [the tone continues]. I don't want to say it's hopelessness, but it's that sense of, given the scale of what you're fighting, how can you possibly win? It's going to take so much coordination and so much force," he said.
"Whereas Mass Effect 2 was sort of stylishly dark - cool and slick, this is much more of a full-scale war feel. You don't really have the luxuries, and you don't have the sense that you can for sure win.
"Deep down, you know that it's going to get ugly and there are things that are going to be lost, even if you win."
Hudson told GI that BioWare's intention is to make the beginning of Mass Effect 3's story "hopeless", but later "you start finding a reason to believe".
"If I tell you that reason to believe right now, then the story up front doesn't make sense when you play, because you're waiting for X to happen. That's thing we don't want to reveal."
In the same interview Hudson teased the possibility of an MMO based in the sci-fi universe and detailed a tweaked combat system.
