Metal Gear Solid: Rising coming 2nd November 2012 - rumour
Another Mass Effect 3 information blowout hits the net
As if the lovely details pulled from an issue of OXM weren’t enough to satisfy your curiosity for Mass Effect 3, a poster over on the BioWare forums has provided readers with some other details gleaned from an issue of Xbox World Magazine.
The information, which we pulled from an updated Mass Effect 3 post over on NeoGAF, has quite few spoilers in it, so if you wish to remain pure and lily white, do not wander off below the break.
Shepard vs Cerberus
According to Xbox World Magazine, the game will contain fewer squad mates this time around as the developers though that 12 was just too many.
“Twelve was a big number in Mass Effect 2 – almost too big”, said Casey Hudson. “We’re focused on a smaller squad with deeper relationships and more interesting interplay in Mass Effect 3. We’re not going to have twelve again but we are going to do more with the characters on your squad including Liara, and Kaidan or Ashley. And we’re bringing everyone back – every main character is in Mass Effect 3 somewhere.”
Characters in the game have had their appearance updated by the same team which created the original characters. Each player will mature a bit especially in the armor department and Garrus’ armor was used as one such example. Shepard has changed quite a a bit as well, especially compared to how his armor appeared in Mass Effect 1. Cerberus heavy troopers will be sporting massive armour, while Assassins will use the same Biotics as Shepard.
Things have changed with Cerberus as well, and it was noted that no matter how you finished Mass Effect 2, Cerberus are now your enemy. Shepard is unsure why at the beginning why Cerberus is sending commandos after him, but he will discover the reason later in the game when the Illusive Man returns.
“You were begrudgingly working for Cerberus in ME2,” said Hudson, “but they’ve gone a bit further and Shepard has returned to the Alliance so Cerberus troops are a major threat.”
“Cerberus Troopers can do everything that Shepard can do now,” added designer Corey Gaspur. “So your fighting a force that’s a lot more punishing.”
“We wanted to make it so that when the player’s fighting in the moment they feel like they have more options than aiming shooting and using powers,” added lead gameplay designer Christina Norman. “We really want to make mobility a factor that plays into combat. You’ll always ask yourself: “Am I in the right position on the battlefield? Where are my enemies? How am I going to get from point A to point B?’
“Players should never be walking into these safe places with great cover and stay there for the whole fight. It’s about how you’re going to move through the battlefield as the enemies through the battefield move through the battlefield and how they’re reacting to one another and to you.”
Location, location, location
While previous article on locations in the game have been talked about already, BioWare confirmed in Xbox World that the Turian homeworld of Palaven and the Quarian homeworld of Rannoch will be new destinations early on in Mass Effect 3.
Players will also be making a return to Tuchanka, and even go on mining missions on a Martian crater, but it will be the cities of Earth which will really standout as the game’s “showpiece locations.”
“The Seatle/Vancouver megacity on the west coast of North America is a truly gigantic space which Shepard will visit before and after the Reapers take it apart,” said level artist Don Arceta. “If you Google Map Vancouver, the layout is pretty much the exact same as our map. Geographically, it’s very true to the real world.
“You play a game like Gears or War and they just have sandbags everywhere, and we really don’t want to do that. We really want to get away from arbitrary things placed just for the people working there, and we’re just trying to really make sense of these spaces. We try to design the arhitecture first before we blow it up, like, really thinking about how did they actually design this building, and does it function well.”
Levels in the game are large, and need to be because players will be participating in a boss fight against a six hundred foot Reaper. The spaces also need to be large so that Shepard can pilot his fifty foot Cerberus Atlas mech later on in the game.
“I think Lair of the Shadow Broker is a good look at how we design levels now,” said Hudson. “It’s all about sudden shifts in the action. There’s a section on Earth where you’re running a narrow walkway and there’s a war going on all around you and a ship is in the distance. Suddenly its nuclear core blows up and its suchs a shockwave that it knocks you off the walkway and you end up sliding down the glass face of a knocked over high-rise and then you kind of roll and catch yourself and all that happens in a moment of gameplay.
“You have control thoughout and that’s when you’ll realise annything could happen at any time.”
According to the development team, the utter scale of Mass Effect 3, including every fight and every enemy, is bigger than anything ever rendered in the Mass Effect universe or by “the Unreal Engine before.”
For the fans
Players new to the Mass Effect universe and just starting out with ME3 can expect to be caught up rather quickly at the beginning of the game.
According to Hudson, the team will implement something similar to what PS3 users received with ME2, but it may not be the same “comic style,” of prequel.
“We’ll do something in the same style to recap the story”, said Hudson. “It’s essentially a really fancy save game generator. The challenge is to make the game better than ever before, to make it a great entry point for new players, and to make it the ending fans deserve. It’s about making sure it starts the way a great story should start versus just being a continuation.
“And thats tough because there is no canon except for what the player has chosen. In the end, its their game.”
Mass Effect 3 will be released during the first three-months of 2012 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Will Include, Surprise, Major Revelations
Stephen Totilo — To hear the creative director of this fall's Assassin's Creed Revelations put it in a recent interview with Game Informer, the next Assassin's Creed will actually merit its subtitle. Questions will be answered. What kind of questions?
Read on, only if you've played Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Oh, but if you're about to bail, you might at least like to know that Alexandre Amancio also says—possibly stating the obvious—that "Assassin's Creed III will be about another character." The thinking is that each numbered AC game introduces a new assassin: Altair in the first, Ezio in the second, someone new in III.
Okay? Mild spoiler time... run away, unspoiled non-players of ACII and AC:B
In his interview with Game Informer, Amancio says:
We decided in this opus of the franchise to actually give the players a lot of the answers that they've sort of been thirsting for ever since AC II. A lot of things were set up with Minerva, with Juno, a lot of the details about the end-of-the-world plot line in 2012—as we're getting closer and closer to the actual 2012 marker, the franchise is also concluding its major opus. So this game is sort of where we're setting all the record straight. We're sort of closing all of the loops that have been started. .., We're going to reveal not only a lot of stuff about the first civilization plot-line, but we're actually going to conclude the Ezio, the Altair storylines, and we're going to sort of explain why Ezio is such an important character for the franchise, what his actual role is in all of that plotline, what role Altair plays in that destiny, and, ultimately what role Desmond plays in all that stuff.Experienced players surely realize that this is no small promise. In ACII and AC:B we've had the mysterious god-like Minerva and Juno, both possibly representatives of some precursor civilization on Earth, tell Ezio and Desmond about the impending end of the world. They've said some shifty things that have called into question whether our hero assassin's are doing the right thing.
This is a series that has implied that even Adam and Eve were somehow tied up in the saga that has led to the adventures of all of the Assassin's Creed answers. Those of us who have been playing certainly have a lot of questions. We're actually getting answers in Revelations? That's a welcome surprise.
Check out the rest of GI's video with Amancio for more details about how Revelations is being made and about his intriguing goals of improving the series convergence of narrative and gameplay. He's set some lofty goals.

Revelations about Revelations
Got my new Game Informer yesterday and the AC: Revelations article definitely has me excited. Here is my quick recap of the article. I’ll Try and get Scans up later
- This will be the biggest AC yet! If you thought Rome was huge in Brotherhood, this is supposed to slightly dwarf that.
- Besides Ubi Montreal who has handled all the entire series they had to enlist the help of Ubi France, Ubi Quebec, Ubi Sweden, Ubi Singapore, and Ubi Bucharest in Romania. Hopefully a big team means big things
- Constantinople is the setting during the Ottoman Empire
- Constantinople is split into a few districts: Constantin, Beyazid, Imperial, Galata, Cappadocia, and Masyaf returns! (AC: 1)
- Important characters you will meet: Suleiman (in history becomes Suleiman the Magnificent), Ahmet, Sofia Sorto, Manuel Palaeologos
- You will play as Ezio who has gotta be in his 50’s at this point, Altier, and Desmond
- New weapons, most notiably the hook blade will which allow for new ways to free run, climb, and engage in combat
- Small scale crafting system to be introduced, for those of you familiar with collecting the random items that came out of chest with the money in Brotherhood, you will now be able to use those items to craft bombs
- According to Ubi there will be +/- 300 types of bombs you can create using different items, each bomb will have a unique effect, and you can create the ones you like that best fit your play style
- There are now ziplines around the world that you can latch onto with the hook blade to help you traverse roof tops.
- The battle system has been adjusted again, now during combat your bombs, and secondary weapon (gun, throwing knives) will be mapped to their own buttons allowing for interesting combos
- The hook blade can be used to grab enemies when in a fight to start a combo instead of having to wait for them to attack and counter
- You’re assassin’s guild will return! This time you can rank them up to level 15 Master Assassin instead of level 10 Assassin
- There are Dens similar to the Borgia Towers that will need to be over taken in order to upgrade areas and establish hideouts for you and your assassin’s
- Different from the Borgia towers, once you capture a den at any given time the templars may try to take it back, you will have to defend it to keep your strong hold on the area.
- Side missions will occur within the world and flow more fluidly, you may be attacked while roaming, someone may scream for help when you walk by etc. You can choose to ignore and continue on or engage and do the side mission
- Multiplayer will be adjusted and made more robust, new modes, character models, faster match making, more customization. More of a storyline given to the multiplayer. They made it sound like there may be a mode based around missions like the single player so it sounds like co-op to me which would be a WIN!
- This will be the end of Ezio’s journey. Ubi promises to answer lingering questions i.e. closing out Altiers story, bringing Ezio’z journey to an end, explaining the ending of Brotherhood etc.
- Basic Plot revolves around Ezio taking a journey back to Masyaf to study more on Altier and decide if he made the right choices in life, he is basically soul searching, upon his return he finds Masyaf over run by templars. He finds out there is something hidden in Masyaf that the templars are trying to obtain. This object will give the templars the power to defeat the assassins so of course he goes on a journey to get to it first. There are 6 keys to open the secret location, 5 of which are hidden in Constantinople, and one the templars have already secured. Ezio has to find the 5 and of course learn who is keeping the 6th and obtain it as well. Interesting enough these keys will kind of act as an animus inside the animus. This will lead to the Altier parts of the game which will bring more answers to the cliffhangers we were left with in AC:1, and also help Ezio understand more about himself.
- *SPOILER ALERT* If you have not finished Brotherhood STOP!!! I will be vague as possible here…..
- Playing as Desmond will be based upon the state he ended the last game in. His levels you will traverse his subconscious and also explore what is being called the “ black room”, its similar to the all white room you are placed in during loading screens. Its said to think of this as him going into safe mode after the way Brotherhood ended. Going through his subconscious and solving puzzle will be key to bringing him up to speed from where he left off in Brotherhood lol
I am sure there are a few details I missed as it was big article but these are the key points. I will read again and update with any information I feel fans of the series will be interested in that I may have by passed. Assassin’s Creed Revelations is due out this November.

Playstation Network Has A Pulse. Service Could Be Online Soon
It looks like the Playstation Network has a pulse.
Although Sony have been noticeably mute the last few days and haven’t updated us on when we can expect the service to come back online, it is being reported that the internal Playstation Network developer network is back online.
NeoGAF forum member Kagari revealed today that, “The internal PSN developer network is online again, at least it seems for some.” Kagari continues, “Looks like the full network, at least the online play/account part of it, will be back soon.”
Could this be an indication of the return of the network? Let’s hope so.

Uncharted 3: Gameplay Details Revealed
We have yet another Uncharted update for you. In an interesting interview with GameStar, Naughty Dog have revealed more information of the game. Check it out below:
On Action Pieces:
“One of the things we’re really setting our sights on is the spectacular action set-pieces that we’ve established as a key component of the active cinematic experience we want to create for the player. Sequences like the collapsing building or the train in Uncharted 2 allowed us to see the potential of these set-pieces and our goal is to fulfill that potential with even bigger, more intense set-pieces in Uncharted 3. That’s just one of our goals, of course, but it probably most easily encapsulates what we’re doing to create experiences our players haven’t seen before.”
On the length of the game:
“We’re still in the middle of development, so it’s a bit early to get a solid idea of how long Uncharted 3 will take to complete. Of course, game length isn’t our main goal – our goal for all the Uncharted games has been to make them so fun and engaging to play that you don’t want to put the controller down until you’re done!”
“Pacing is extremely important to capturing our player’s attention and keeping them wrapped up in the game and the story for the full length of the game.”
New gameplay mechanics:
“Drake can now take on opponents in more ways than before: hand-to-hand combat with multiple opponents, contextual melee attacks (such as breaking a bottle over an enemy’s head), and new stealth options (like dropping on enemies from above). Drake can also perform more attacks while climbing and use his guns in much more vertically-oriented spaces.”
Customization:
“Customization is a big focus for us, and our players can now make their heroes and villians skins their own with hundreds of customizable parts, from accessories to shirts and pants to a deep weapon customization feature, which allows for weapon modifications such as precise scopes, bigger clips and more. You can leave your mark on the battlefield (and on your character) through our newly-added emblem editor, which contains hundreds of decals for you to use to design your own individual emblem. Players can customize their gameplay beyond weapon modifications through Paid Boosters, a one-time booster that you spend some cash to have the option of using during a match, and Medal Kickbacks, where you can select a specific special ability that requires a certain number of medals to activate during a match. To help players organize all of these options, we’ve added in player loadouts that allow you to choose your starting rifle, sidearm, weapon customizations and mods, Boosters and Kicksbacks in slots to easily allow you to choose the best loadout to suit your playstyle for each gametype and map.”

Game Informer AC: Revelations Details revealed
The latest issue of Game Informer has reached subscribers and there’s a lot of new details regarding the next Assassin’s Creed title in there.
SPOILER WARNING
The game will be set in Constantinople, which will be split into 4 huge districts (Constantin, Beyazid, Imperial and Galata). Another key point to note is that Ezio will be over 50 years old in the game. There’s lots more. You can go through them below.
We’ve the lot for you below:
The issue also has got a lot of details regarding the new Rayman title from Ubisoft. You can catch them below aswell:
- The bulk of the game is set in Constantinople which will be split into 4 huge districts (Constantin, Beyazid, Imperial and Galata)
- You’ll also visit Cappadocia
- Ezio is over 50 years old in this game
- Ezio has a new item called the hookblade which allows him to use ziplines throughout the city. UBI says that it speeds up navigation by about 30%
- You can also use the hookblade to reach out and pull enemies in for a combo
- Ezio can now make bombs through a crafting system. UBI says that there are over 300 bomb types
- They’ve modified the control scheme so that circle/B will control the hookblade and triangle/Y will control project weapons and bombs
- Eagles vision has become eagle sense. “Eagle sense let’s you focus on a character and see where he’s been,” Amancio says. “You’ll get an approximation of where he will go. If you’re able to detect the path a guard will take, you can run ahead, set a bomb, and create a trap or an ambush.”
- They’ve expanded on the Borgia Towers concept in order to create a new system. Throughout the city there are Assassin’s Den’s, you’ll need to complete various assault scenarios in order take down the Templar presence (UBI says that there’s more variety than in the Borgia Towers). Once you obtain a den you’ll be able to upgrade the buildings in that region along with adding ziplines across the rooftops. You’ll also be able to change the guards from being hostile to neutral.
- You can lose control of you dens as you gain notoriety. You’ll be able to send your own troops after the templars if you’re unable to make it back to the specific den that’s being attacked. You can do that by making it to any of the other dens that you currently control. You’ll also be able to install a master assassin to control a specific den and you’ll never have to worry about it being taken over.
- The assassin leveling mechanic has been increased from 10 to 15
- In order to make the world more immersive they’ve done away with traditional side missions in favor of random events. For example you may be traveling through a city and notice a shop owner being robbed or a little girl asking for help
- They’re using a new type of capture facial technology called Mocam that GI describes as an “intriguing amalgamation of traditional animation, performance capture and the fascinating new style of performance on display in games like LA Noire.”
- Desmond is placed back inside Animus where he finds a safe mode called the ‘Black Room’. You’ll be able to access Desmond’s lost memories through that back door
- The gameplay during Desmond’s game is described as narrative-fueled puzzle sequences. “Through the manipulation and creation of geometry with the game world, Desmond seeks to reintegrate the splintered layers of his subconscious.”
- Multiplayer is returning but this time they’re trying to give more focus to the narrative since that’s a big part of AC
- You’ll be able to custom your character appearance and weapons as well as create guilds.
The Gaf post also has the review scores from Game Informer.
- Ancel notes that he’s been working on BG&E2 for “a while”. He said they’ve had a little break from that project that that’s where RO started
- He noted that few people finished the original Rayman due to its difficulty. They hope to change that by making this one more accessible while still offering a challenge
- They’re trying to design the game to fit various platforming styles. So people that enjoy collecting will have plenty to collect but it’s also being designed for those that like to do speedruns
- The Lums you collect will act as currency for new power ups, health and ‘I Dare You’ challenges.
- ‘I Dare You’ challenges are where you wager on whether you can complete a complex, acrobatic chain.
- The game now supports 4 player local (they don’t say anything about online) co-op.
- “The levels are designed with both single-playing and multiplayer in mind, so no one is at a loss if a player tackles the game alone or in a group.
- In order to keep the game accessible all characters will have the same abilities
- While the game was a downloable title it has since become a full retail title. Ancel said that comes from people wanting to make a real sequel
- It’s due this holiday for the PS3 and 360

Latest issue of PSM has some info regarding the latest Tomb Raider:Source: http://gamenyusu.com/component/content/article/8-all-news/395-tomb-raider-psm-details.html
-Combat in this reboot wont glorify killing, this a younger and more fragile Lara, however, realizes that sometimes either kill or be killed.
-Jumps are far more dynamic, in this game you can jump and sort of aim in the right direction, and end up getting there or Change it on the fly a little and shell twist and turn in midair and causally grab stuff off to the side. Its more feels more like AC than pass TR games.
-Everything you see on the island actually exist in the game world, in short if you see it you can access it.
-There will be an element of choice to the experience, as players will be giving multiple ways to approach and obstacle.

Wrex Confirmed for Mass Effect 3 by Accident?
In listening to the Mass Effect 3 podcast, a question was asked: “What’s Bioware doing for combat?” The most interesting part of the response?
“We saw Shepard fighting with Liara, Urdn- uh, Garrus”. Don’t believe us? Take a listen for yourself around the 9:25 mark. What does this mean exactly? Perhaps the roster that we reported on earlier VIA PS3M has been expanded to include our lovable Krogan? Or perhaps it’s the mark of the return of our previous Krogan squadmate Grunt.
Dare we dream of a Grunt/Wrex/Shepard squad? Dare we dream?

Assassin's Creed 3 Reveal Imminent? Update: Assassin's Creed Revelations Is Next In The Series
Just recently, Ubisoft may have almost spilled the beans on the next Assassin's Creed game, what we presume to be, Assassin's Creed 3. E3 is next month, and some publishers may not wait until the biggest week long celebration in gaming to show their future titles. "Assassins, the day you have been waiting for has arrived!!! Click the link below to help reveal an exclusive look at the upcoming Assassin's Creed game!" - This statement was recently made on the official Assassin's Creed facebook page, so we may be in for some news about the title soon. Check back for updates.
Update: Another image has emerged. According to the image, you will need to *like* the AC FB page to see the exclusive reveal.
Update 2: The screen capture of the pulled page suggests a similar marketing strategy as seen with EA and Battlefield 3. The fans are prompted to promote the page, basically telling their friends to like it, until it reaches a certain limit.
Update 3: Confirmed! Spread the word to help reveal the next Assassin's Creed. Here. On the actual page that you need to "share", there are Twitter and Facebook share features that link back to the Assassin's Creed Facebook page once you've posted the share message, however, the AC FB page has yet to be updated with any like meters of sorts. There is an activity monitor on the Assassin's Creed activity page which currently shows 3% as of this update (1:37 PM EST).
Update 4: The flash teaser shows the name "Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad" an ancestor of Ezio, a master assassin. Perhaps the new Assassin's Creed will involve him as a main plot focus, but this is merely speculation at this point in time.
Update 5: Assassin's Creed Revelations is the name of the title.

More Tomb Raider details
Numerous magazines containing articles on Tomb Raider are beginning to hit newsstands. We received a great deal of information about the game from Hobby Consolas yesterday, and now another round of information has been released. We’ve posted the details for you below.
- As stated by Scrat, the adventure will be divided into three major sections corresponding to the 3 phases of the evolution of Lara in his initiation: survival, rescue, escape.Source
- The article stresses that the physics engine the game uses mainly the laws of gravity, centrifugal force … To allow Lara to reach his goals.
- The cutscenes and the game fit perfectly and are linked together without snap.
- The pain of Lara is accentuated by the effects of staging (close-ups, tighter camera angles, motion blur …).
- Lara’s character changes during the game one young woman inexperienced and impressionable, it will evolve gradually towards a more mature and adventurous determined, which will be felt in its equipment (the section does not the possibility that the two appear 9mm) and its aftershocks.
- The survival instinct that highlights the decorative elements that can help Lara can only be used when stationary.
- The puzzles based on the laws of physics, there are often several ways to solve them, and above all, no panacea: it is sometimes necessary to try several times to make it work because the laws of physics are random, the while adding a part of “improvisation” on the part of the player who has to do with what he has to move forward. Finally, the article states that despite the aid, the puzzles are not that easy to solve in the heat of the moment.
- Statues of Buddha appear several times in the game .. Their usefulness is unknown at this time.
- Some elements of the set collapsing under the weight of Lara.

It seems as though almost every magazine has a preview featuring Mass Effect 3 this month. The latest publication to join in on the fun is LEVEL, a well-known gaming magazine from Sweden. A subscriber over at BioWare’s forums was kind enough to provide a very in-depth summary of the article, which we’ve posted below. Happy reading!
Basically the writer of the article actually got to meet the team face-to-face in Edmonton and saw (and heard) some very interesting stuff. Most of the initial info is just stuff *we’ve* already heard. They have the good old picture of Ashley, with a caption that clearly states that Shepard has split with Cerberus and that this means s/he has a chance to get back with Ashley/Kaidan and maybe reignite the romance from ME1. Nothing overtly new.The picture of Shepard with an armored Kaidan to Shepard’s right (the reader’s left) and Liara on the opposite side is also in the article. The caption states that every single squaddie who survived ME2 will be back. It does not say if they’re going to be playable or even permanent squaddies (aside from the Fantastic 4 that we already know of).
The article also have the picture of the refurbished SR2′s interior. The caption says that parts of the Cerberus crew will actually leave the ship, and that it will feel quite empty early in the game.Casey Hudson goes on about the fact that Shepard won’t play the role of a general, but that s/he will affect the outcome of the war through inspiring other through his/her actions. Casey also says one of the main inspirations for Shepard was Jimmy Doolittle, a WW2 fighter pilot who epically owned a lot of his enemies and became a big inspiration for other soldiers, and that they’re playing that kind of angle with Shep in ME3.The pictures of the rachni husk and the batarian husk is also in. The rachni is erroneously described as a “collector” in the picture caption. In a text segment the article writer lets us know that Derek Watts, the art director, accidentally spoiled him with a plot twist of “Luke I am your father”-calibre. Fortunately the article writer decided to keep it for himself. Fun stuff to look forward to, in other words.Another text segment describes… and boy, this is a big one for turian-lovers such as myself… that Palaven has been rendered completely inoperable as a military stronghold, and that the turians of Palaven (either militarily or as a whole) have been forced to evacuate to a nearby moon that apparently is very barren, to really accentuate the turians status as hardened survivors. On the other page is a concept picture of the moon in question, with Palaven’s dark side in the distance. Fires can clearly be seen on the planet’s surface in the dark. Just below it is another picture which I can only assume is Palaven itself. Next to these two is a larger picture of a number of reapers attacking what seems to be a moon for some big, terrestrial planet with cloud formations. It may be Palaven again, i’m not sure.
The third picture has a caption in which the writer states that BioWare has some sort of plan on how to fight (in-game) the Reapers on their own scale, but that they want to keep it a secret other than that it will be “grand”.On the same page is a long description of the reinforcement of RPG-elements, in which Casey states that while they will satisfy the RPG-demand that most fans felt was lacking in ME2, that does not mean they will trim down on the shooter elements. He also says we will have more stuff to buy in the shops, and more stuff to do in the various menus.
There’s a picture of Illium and a caption that states we will get to revisit the planet. Below that picture is a smaller picture of the North American continent burning (the ENTIRE continent, for emphasis), meaning the Reaper invasion ISN’T just restricted to Europe like I originally thought. In the next segment, the article writer is introduced to Corey Gaspur, one of the game designers. Gaspur goes into detail on the new enemies, trying to emphasize their desire to create a greater variety of enemies, especially what he calls “reaper-zombies”. Apparently these reaper zombies can have some of their body parts blown off. He also uses the batarian husk as an example of how different areas on the body can affect combat. For example, shooting the hand-cannon will disable his range attack, shooting his claw will prevent him from meleeing you, or you can just ignore both and go for the kill by shooting the more durable torso. This system is apparently going to be applied to more than just this type of enemy.Casey explains that they are really going for a greater enemy variety, and that they will have cannibalizing husks, Cerberus mechs that can be blown apart in two pieces and new types of husks which will, and i quote, “be to the old [husk]version what 28 days later was to the Night of the Living Dead”.In the next segment they describe the salarian homeworld as a very damp and tropical place, comparing their architecture to the hanging gardens of Babylon. The article writer gets to play a combat sequence in an area by a waterfall, fighting Cerberus soldiers. The gameplay is positively compared to Gears of War, with emphasis on more fluid and faster combat. Casey reiterates that they are trying to make the game more difficult by making the enemies smarter and more tactical. “Veteran is the new Normal.”Next on they meet Parrish Ley, the lead cinematic director. This part isn’t very interesting, they just talk about how they are improving the cinematic feel and so forth. Parrish shows the Tresher vs Reaper segment to the article writer, and they indicate that the krogan convoy in which Shepard is situated is supposed to distract the reaper so that turian ships can get clear shots at it.On the next page is a picture of Anderson in a blue cap, with an ear-phone-thingy dressed in light combat armor with an assault rifle in hand. The caption suggests that he will have a much more combat-oriented role, but it does not say if he will be a squadmember in any capacity. My educated guess is that he will be a temporary squaddie. The rest of the article is just a couple of quotes that describes BioWares feel of its grand scope, and how excited they are to finish the big project they started 10 years ago, and how well they feel the trilogy-concept have been implemented, emphasizing that the series is the first to have player decisions carry over for three games.Well like I said in the beginning of the post I can’t scan the images, so you’ll have to take my (weak) word for it until someone can actually confirm it.If this has already been posted, just shoot me. I did an extensive research and came up with nothing, so here it is.One thing I forgot to mention: they say that the factions of the galaxy are on the verge of civil war and is that we might possibly have to choose between them in ME3, such as the quarians and geth, citing Kaidan and Ashley as an example but on a galactic scale. Gulp.Source

L.A Noire’s Script Is Equal To Two Seasons Of Television
Source: http://www.gameblurb.net/news/l-a-noires-script-is-equal-to-two-seasons-of-television/![]()
At this evening’s Tribeca Film Festival where there was a premiere for L.A. Noire, Rockstar had mentioned during the talk that the script for L.A Noire was about almost 2200 pages long. Geoff Gilmore of Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises mentions during the talk that the game “has over 20 different cases, some 400 characters and a script that is over 2200 pages” in which Rockstar confirms that the game’s script is about “2 seasons of TV”
Comparing this Heavy Rain’s 2000 page script…wow. Is it safe to say that this maybe Rockstar’s most ambitious game yet? Whatever the case and no matter how long it takes, I’ll be looking forward to its release when L.A Noire hits the shelves May 17th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Lots of New Mass Effect 3 details revealed
A lot of new Mass Effect 3 details have emerged and we’ve got them for you below.
The details discuss a lot of gameplay elements aswell as story and other stuff from the game. Be warned that possible spoilers lurk within them, for anyone who’s yet to play the previous two games.
Get the whole lot below:
- Heavy Melee Attacks
- There is a new charged-up melee attack where Shepard uses his Omni-Tool to inflicting a big burning hit.
- Story:
- They saw a cut-scene where the Normandy and a fleet of alien ships go through a mass relay together.
- The structure of the story is a little different to Mass Effect and ME 2, but it bears more resemblance to the first game’s story. ‘Mass Effect 3, in simple terms, is a little more like the first game. You’re collecting pieces of a story, but the more you investigate and explore these themes, the more the game will unlock and you’ll see the bigger picture.’ Its more of a traditional story.
- They’re not going to end the game like a traditional war story, where you beat the bad guys and celebrate. All these characters and relationships created will be a big part of the ending.
- Additional Details:
- Casey Hudson says, the game will have some epic moments, as well as ‘smaller, more personal moments’ that exceeds the previous 2 games. The player will start realising things from Shepard’s personal life. He will have to deal with the consequences of the sacrifices he’s had to make.
- Obvious: Your choices will all have an impact in ME 3 such as the genophage, the collector base, your LI choices etc.
- New enemy type: The Cannibal. Part Batarian, part Human and part Reaper. Consumes other enemies in combat to gain strength.
- The Turret that Engineers can use won’t kill enemies, but distract them.
- Gunfights are quicker and more deadly (confirmation).
- Visually it’s tapping the heels of games such as Killzone 3 and Crysis 2, with 6 months development time left.
- The Rachni decision may haunt you in ME 3.
- Character customisation will be as extensive as ever.
- The action, rather than the all-linear affair of ME 2, will be more along the lines of Uncharted.
- New Cerberus troops are called Phantoms and Assassins.
- Shepard faces full-on bosses in the game’s story. Some are really huge. One part, you have to lure a Reaper up to a Thresher Maw so they can duke it out.
- “Many of the core story levels are built around the largest, most dramatic moments in the galaxy.”
- The Mass Effect series has sold over 7 million copies.
- Even more details
We’ll keep you updated as more new details emerge.
- Normal in ME 3 will be the equivalent of Veteran in ME 2.
- Kai Leng (known from the books) will work with Cerberus to kill Shepard.
- James Sanders is muscular, like an American footballer on steroids.
The game releases this fall for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Quinton Not Involved in Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Questions and comments keep flooding in about Quinton reprising his role as Raiden in Metal Gear Solid:Rising. Quinton made the following statement via twitter yesterday:
For fans who keep asking, I’m currently not involved in Metal Gear Solid: Rising and have been given no reason to believe I will be.Many fans have asked for clarification of a previous post here on the blog about Rising and are wondering if Quinton will eventually be contacted to start working on the game. In all likelihood, voice work on Rising has already begun and Quinton is simply not being contacted to work as the English voice of Raiden in this installment of Metal Gear Solid. We understand and share the disappointment of MGS fans but actors are rarely privy to the details of the producers’ decision making process.
We also do not have any information regarding details of the game itself; whether or not the character “Solid Snake” will be making a cameo and if his long-time voice actor, David Hayter, will also be replaced.
We offer our apologies to fans for our inability to give satisfactory answers. In an effort to help, I’ve collected some links to recent articles discussing the game, where gamers might find useful information.

L.A. Noire Pre-order Controversy
If gamers dislike anything more than on-the-disc-DLC or same day DLC, it has to be multiple pre-order bonuses. With the upcoming release of L.A. Noire in May, gamers are going to have to choose where they pre-order their game based on the sort of bonus they receive. This creates an issue which will favor Rockstar monetarily in the end.
This is becoming an alarming trend. Gamers have seen this pre-order dilemma before with last year’s Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar is providing certain stores with different pre-order bonuses for L.A. Noire. Here is the list.
The point here is that there is no way to get all the pre-order bonuses. One would have to buy at least three copies of the game. Most gamers do not have the means to do this. I’m sure this stuff will come out in DLC eventually or if the game sells well enough, gamers will see a GOTY edition within a year. Better yet, maybe the consumer-savvy gamer should wait a few months and get the game cheaper.
- Amazon will provide gamers with the “The Broderick” Detective Suit and $10 Videogame E-Gift Card. Not only does the suit look good, but it also makes gamers more damage resistant as well as increasing the damage gamers can do in melee combat. Pre-order at Amazon now: L.A. Noire
![]()
- Walmart has the “A Slip of the Tongue” Detective Case and $10 E-Gift Card. The rumor is, the case adds 30 minutes of extra game play.
- GameStop is giving gamers the “The Naked City” Vice Case and The Badge Pursuit. This Badge Pursuit adds collectibles for gamers to track down. Collect all the badges and resourceful gamers receive additional weapons and ammo. The Naked City bonus gives additional game play revolving around a model’s suicide.
- Lastly, Best Buy has the “The Sharpshooter” Detective Suit which provides gamers with better aiming precision.
The bigger problem here is the mentality Rockstar is encouraging. The company is putting gamers and stores into a bidding/buying war and based on the bonuses, it’s going to be a tough decision outside of what Best Buy has to offer. To make things even more complex, Rockstar is giving PS3 owners some extra exclusive in-game content as well. This practice just goes to show Rockstar is only interested in making money and doesn’t care about its audience. This is just another practice to squeeze every dime from gamers while driving up day-one sales.
The future solution is to release everything that was going to be considered as pre-order bonuses as DLC as soon as possible. Most gamers would be on board with this even if the DLC was released the same day as the game. This is still better than the multiple store pre-order train wreck. Rockstar, here are good examples of a decent pre-order bonus to offer: early access to a beta, early access to reduced-price DLC, or different car/gun/character skins. As of right now gamers are trapped in Rockstar's web trying to decide which pre-order bonus is the most appealing.

'InFamous 2 to allow first-game save transferring'
In an interview done by GameSpot.com (link), Sucker Punch game director Nate Fox has confirmed that you will be able to transfer your InFamous 1 save over to InFamous 2. By doing so, your character and his morals (good or evil) will be used in the sequel appropriately.
"In the beginning of the game, if you have played InFamous, it will say, 'Do you want to continue?' [...] You can just continue through with that character that you developed," Fox claimed. "[...] It is not required. If you didn't play the first game, you're totally set; we have you covered. Things will [still] make sense."
InFamous 2 is set to release exclusively onto the PS3 on June 7. While waiting for its highly-anticipated arrival, check out a comparison we did of it and the first game here: link.

PS3′s Splinter Cell Trilogy Delayed
February has just been an awful month for news.Source: http://oxcgn.com/2011/02/20/splinter-cell-trilogy-delayed/
Whether it be the whole conflict in Egypt, or titles like Mirror’s Edge 2 receiving the boot, it’s been far from a loving month.
One of the more anticipated Ubisoft titles of this year was the high definition remastering of the first three Splinter Cell titles for the PS3, the Splinter Cell Trilogy.
The release date was set at a March release, but online retailer Amazon changed the date this morning to June 21st.
Why, Ubisoft? First the highly anticipated Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta being pushed back to an unset date, now this?
What do you think could be the reason? One of the most asked-for features of this re-release was the inclusion of the famous Spies Versus Mercenaries multiplayer; there’s been no confirmation that the mode will be included, and we’re all holding our breath for it.
Do you think Ubisoft realized after Splinter Cell: Conviction that they may well need a return of Spies Versus Mercenaries, and decided to keep it back in?

Shadows Of The (Delayed) Damned Pushed Back Two Weeks
Suda 51, at a recent San Francisco-based event, announced that Shadows of the Damned has been delayed and will be releasing two weeks after its originally planned date. The game will now be hitting the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 21st. This pushes the release outside of the E3 timeframe which might indicate that EA plans to make the game have a strong showing at said event. We’ll have more news for you on the game as it comes.

Visceral Games hiring for next Dead Space title
Visceral Games looks to have, unsurprisingly, had development of a new Dead Space title green-lit by publisher EA.
A new job listing from the studio popped up online yesterday in search of a senior level designer for the next instalment in the horror franchise. Visceral requests “deep knowledge of the action / shooter genre” for the game, listed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
“The Dead Space team continues to set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience,” it reads. “Our team values are as follows: Gameplay comes first, controller feel is everything, culture of creativity, be highly iterative, playtest early and often, learn from failure, work fast and smart, and surround ourselves with the best talent in the world.
“Join the crew! Your Plasma Cutter is waiting.”
It comes just a few months after the release of Dead Space 2, which was met with critical acclaim. In September last year, Visceral executive producer Steve Papoutsis revealed the creation of another title depends on the sales of Dead Space 2.

Mass Effect 3 has plenty of 'magic' and 'epic moments' - BioWare
BioWare says Mass Effect 3 contains a lot the 'magic' that makes the series special. Oh, and "epic moments" as well.
Speaking in the latest PSM3 magazine, which includes loads of Mass Effect 3 information, exec producer Casey Hudson discussed how he's gone about approaching the third and final game in the trilogy.
"There are certain things you want to do when making a game that are part of the 'magic' of the experience. Those things aren't necessarily the big things - they're often little moments," he said.
"There's a lot of this in Mass Effect 3. The whole game is filled with really epic moments, but I think the story will really start to hit home when players start realising things about Shepard's personal life, through sacrifice on a galactic scale."
Yesterday loads of new gameplay details emerged for the third game, including word on Shepard's new SWAT moves and destructible enemy armour.
Hudson told PSM3 BioWare already knows how the series will end - and it's going to be "spectacular".
"We know how we want it to end and we've already established what makes the series special," he said.

No More Heroes Gets An Adult Version
Grasshopper Manufacture’s No More Heroes franchise is going for an all out “adult” rating with an uncut version of it’s PS3 port hitting Japan later this year. No More Heroes is a popular action adventure title that hit the Wii in 2008 and later garnered a sequel and a re-release on the PS3 in Japan as “No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise”,
With tongue-in-cheek humor and suggestive themes, as well as excessive violence, No More Heroes has gained a very large support in the gaming community and now the title is holding nothing back as a “Z” rated version titled “No More Heroes: Red Zone” will hit Japanese retailers before year’s end exclusively on PlayStation 3. Mass Effect series sales total over 7 million
EA and Bioware’s Mass Effect series has been a massive success since the series’ introduction in late 2007. With Mass Effect garnering great reviews and sales in the range of 2.5 million on the Xbox 360 alone, the series caught a strong userbase immediately and hasn’t looked back.Source: http://www.examiner.com/video-game-in-national/mass-effect-series-sales-total-over-7-million
Revealed in the latest issue of PS3M, they reveal that the Mass Effect series has sold over 7 million copies since 2007. With Mass Effect 2 selling well on the Xbox 360 and putting up respectable numbers on the PS3 and PC, this figure should come as no surprise. Mass Effect has performed strongest on the Xbox 360, thus far, but with Mass Effect 3 releasing on the PS3 on the same day, sales could sway slightly -- though unlikely.
Mass Effect 3 is set to release later this year and will surely propel sale totals well over 10 million. Congratulations to EA and Bioware on the success of the Mass Effect brand.
